A new serge of activity began in the 1980s in order to improve the city's structural facilities. Large urban development works were undertaken at strategic sites, along with a public policy of highlighting historic cultural assets. In a few decades, Lyon had become a city where the successes of the past intermingled harmoniously with the definition of the future.

The Lyon Hilton, directly connected to the city’s convention centre, profits from an exceptional location, between the banks of the Rhone and the magnificent park, “Tête d’Or”.
The famous architect, Renzo Piano, to whom the project was given, did an excellent job in blending in the building with the architectural style of the international city.
The Hilton Lyon is located next to a cinema complex, a new casino, Interpol’s headquarters, and the Modern Art Museum; it is in one of the most active districts of Lyon.
