Little damaged during World War II, Prague is almost unique among European cites in its unspoilt surviving heritage of exceptionally fine medieval, Renaissance and Baroque architecture. The city is now a magnet for international tourism. The capital of the Czech Republic, hosting the high-profile IMF conference in 2000 and the NATO Summit in 2002, ranks as one of the top 20 conference centres in the world and is asserting itself in the European Union.

Opened in 1992, the 788-key Hilton Prague has the largest conference facilities in the city (4,000m²) and is one of the biggest hotel of the capital. With a prominent location on two major through routes, yet only about 15 minutes walk from the historic old Town Square, the hotel’s striking glass structure is a well-known landmark in the city.
